The DeKalb Symphony Orchestra returns to campus this season for a special performance during the 2012 Georgia Music Teachers Association (GMTA) Annual Conference, hosted by Young Harris College. Established in 1964, the 85-member orchestra, directed by Fyodor Cherniavsky, will perform with the two winners of the GMTA concerto competition in the first part of the program and will close the evening with a major work from its orchestral repertoire.
