Cathy and Coulter Fussell Quilt Show
Caught and Loose: Quilts by Cathy and Coulter Fussell Thursday, September 29 6:00 PM @ Campus Gate Art Gallery

Cathy Fussell and Coulter Fussell, mother and daughter, are art quilters, but they don’t call themselves a team. While they often inspire each other, they don’t often work collaboratively. This exhibit will feature works by Cathy, works by Coulter, and a few rare collaborative pieces they have produced together. Cathy is a retired English professor who has been quilting for 50 years. Coulter holds a B.F.A. in painting and drawing from the University of Mississippi. She is the owner of Yalo Studio, a gallery, and YaloRun Textiles, an experimental textile studio, both in Water Valley, Miss. Her work has been referenced in The New York Times, Art Forum, and Art Papers, and is included in the 2016 Atlanta Biennial. Cathy was recently commissioned by the Congressional Club to create an art quilt for First Lady Michelle Obama. Cathy lives and maintains a studio in Columbus, Ga.
