Theatre Young Harris to Close Second Season with Musical Theatre Revue

YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. – Young Harris College’s Theatre Young Harris will close their Second Season with the Musical Theatre Revue on Tuesday-Wednesday, April 26-27, at 7 p.m. in Dobbs Theatre of Goolsby Center on the YHC Campus. The performance is free and open to the public.

Directed by Professor of Music, Director of Choral and Vocal Activities, and Musical Theatre Program Co-coordinator Jeff Bauman, a group of YHC’s extremely talented students will perform during two evenings, which will include a repertoire of Stephen Sondheim’s most popular songs as well as several little-known gems.

The event will kick off with Sondheim’s “Beautiful Girls” and will lead into a slew of Sondheim favorites including “Not a Day Goes By,” “It Takes Two,” and “Not While I’m Around” featuring a variety of solo, duet, quartet, and full cast performances. The show will close with the entire cast performing “Sunday in the Park with George.”

YHC students performing include freshman theatre major Kevin Rains of Ellerslie, Ga., sophomore music major Kevin Garland of Adairsville, Ga., freshman theatre major Charles Ellerby of Atlanta, Ga., senior theatre major LaDareon Copeland of Warner Robins, Ga., sophomore theatre major Drew Andersen of Atlanta, Ga., sophomore theatre major Amanda Crane of Midland, Ga., sophomore theatre major Morgan Mims of Thomson, Ga., senior theatre major Lindsey Koch of Douglasville, Ga., senior theatre major Alana Lambert of Dallas, Ga., senior theatre major Stephanie Mills of Bainbridge, Ga., senior theatre major Brandon Thomas of Oxford, Ga., and sophomore theatre major Keely Adkisson of McDonough, Ga. Senior theatre and religious studies major Brandon Helton of Dahlonega, Ga., is serving as stage manager for the production.

The Musical Theatre Revue is part of Theatre Young Harris’ Second Season that includes exciting and innovative events like musical revues and cabarets, staged readings, one-act plays, and special recitals.

Theatre Young Harris is YHC’s performing arts organization. Each season, the theatre company presents a full lineup of notable productions, including full-length musicals, innovative dramas, classic plays, children’s shows and more. Auditions are open to YHC students, faculty and staff as well as the community.
