Young Harris College Choirs to Present “Americana” Concert

YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. – The Young Harris College Concert Choir and Chamber Choir will perform a concert on Saturday, Oct. 22, at 7 p.m. at Sharp Memorial United Methodist Church. This concert is free and open to the public.

Directed by Professor of Music and Director of Choirs Jeff Bauman, the YHC Concert and Chamber Choirs will present "Americana", a themed concert featuring traditional American tunes including “Sourwood Mountain,” “Simple Gifts” and several selections by American composer Stephen Foster. 

Soloists for the concert include sophomore musical theatre majors Kevin Rains, of Ellerslie, Ga., and Keeley Adkisson, of McDonough, Ga., and junior musical theatre major, Kevin Garland, Adairsville, Ga. Special guest director Shelley Sanderson, D.M.A., assistant professor of music and coordinator of the music education program, will conduct the women of the choirs during “Wayfarin’ Stranger.” Accompaniment throughout the concert will be provided by Staff Accompanist Anita Guss on piano.
