National guide for colleges endorses YHC’s well-rounded approach to postgraduate preparation

YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. — Young Harris College’s Division of Education was recently recognized for its expert blending of the liberal arts with professional programming in education by Colleges of Distinction, a web-based guide that takes a fresh look at colleges and universities appealing to students’ unique and varied interests.

Already recognized by Colleges of Distinction for its innovative approach to education, YHC’s well-rounded approach to career development ensures students are especially prepared to take on the postgraduate world.

“Teaching is such a demanding field and we appreciate this acknowledgement of our diligence in creating a program that enables diverse students to become excellent professional educators. Young Harris College students are willing to work hard and be open to change,” said Karynne Kleine, Ph.D., dean of the division of education. “Our skilled faculty and staff have been successful in supporting our students in meeting the high standards expected of the 21st century teacher.”

Colleges of Distinction’s unique methodology evaluates schools based on their ability to provide a high-quality student experience, as well as a thorough liberal arts education. Colleges of Distinction granted these awards after a comprehensive vetting process, selecting schools based on such qualities as accreditation, breadth of program, and a track record for success.

“We are ecstatic to celebrate Young Harris College for its exceptional commitment to student success,” said Tyson Schritter, chief operating officer for Colleges of Distinction. “Building upon its extensive liberal arts curriculum, as well as its impressive engagement of high-impact practices, YHC continues to stand out through its stance as a leader in professional education.”
