Young Harris College Students Inducted Into Alpha Chi National Honor Society

YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. – Twenty Young Harris College students were recently inducted into the Georgia Xi chapter of national honor society Alpha Chi during a special ceremony held in Susan B. Harris Chapel on the YHC campus.

The new members include senior environmental science major Nicole Abney of Marietta, Ga., senior biology major Meaghan Adams of Hull, Ga., junior mathematics major Reeves Bell of Gainesville, Ga., junior English major Taylor Bilicki of Blairsville Ga., junior religious studies major Seth Black of Beaufort, S.C., junior music major Chloe Cook of Blue Ridge, Ga., junior biology major Gabrielle Coumes of Loganville, Ga., junior history major Jason Edwards of Young Harris, Ga., junior religious studies major Jakob Elliot of Hayesville, N.C., senior English major Eric Fancher of Atlanta, Ga., senior business and public policy major Erik Hallin of Hagfors, Sweden, junior interdisciplinary studies major Christa Hamill of Hiawassee, Ga., senior history major Jessica Kirby of Martin, Ga., junior biology major Jenna Penland of Cleveland, Ga., senior English major Andrew Postell of Cartersville, Ga., junior business and public policy major Raul Quevedo Aranda of Malaga, Spain, senior biology major Mallory Skolds of Snellville, Ga., senior biology major Jordan Woodard of Young Harris, Ga., senior business and public policy major Tim Mohlin Torringer of Svedala, Sweden, and junior business and public policy major Ramin Varnhorn of Bielefeld, Germany.

Membership in Alpha Chi is limited to no more than 10 percent of the junior and senior classes. The objectives of Alpha Chi are to promote and recognize superior scholarship and those elements of character which make scholarship effective for service. Founded in 1922, the society has more than 300 chapters. Membership is the highest academic honor on campus.
