Young Harris College Welcomes Artist Cheryl Goldsleger and Larry Millard

YOUNG HARRIS, GA. — Young Harris College’s Campus Gate Art Gallery (CGAG) is pleased to present “Enigma2” by Cheryl Goldsleger and Larry Millard. The exhibition will open on Thursday, Aug. 17, with a reception at 6 p.m. in the gallery, and will be on display through Friday, Sept. 15. The reception and exhibit are free and open to the public.

Goldsleger and Millard bring their unique artistic styles together for this exhibit. Goldsleger’s paintings and drawings weave together clearly portrayed geometry with abstract, painterly marks to express something akin to our contemporary sensibility. Millard’s use of geometrical forms in his sculptures give the impression that his pieces are innate objects in the spaces we occupy.

Goldsleger currently serves as the Morris Eminent Scholar in Art at Augusta University. She has received awards and displayed exhibits nationally and internationally. Her works are in collections across the world including the Brooklyn Museum, the High Museum, the Israel Museum, the Museum of Modern Art, the New Orleans Museum and the Tel Aviv Museum.

Millard, who is an emeritus professor at the University of Georgia’s Lamar Dodd School of Art, has also been recognized in exhibits globally. His works have been displayed in numerous museums and installations including the Plazzo Vagnotti, Heath Gallery, ARC Gallery, Ohio Foundation on the Arts and the Outdoor Sculpture Installation at the University of Arkansas.

The CGAG is located at 5149 College Street on the YHC campus. Regular gallery hours are Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. For more information, contact the CGAG at (706) 379-5114 or [email protected].
