Young Harris College Welcomes Violinist Dr. Rachael Fischer for an Evening of Chamber Music
YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. – Violinist Rachael Fischer, D.M.A., will present an evening of chamber music for violin and piano on Monday, Oct. 2, at 7 p.m. in Glenn-McGinnis Hall of the Clegg Fine Arts Building on the Young Harris College campus. Admission is $5 for adults and free for students and children under 12.
Dr. Fischer began playing the violin at age four and continues to perform as a soloist and chamber musician. She earned her bachelor of music and doctor of musical arts degrees from the University of Georgia (UGA) and her master of music degree from Arizona State University.
Dr. Fischer has been invited to perform for regional, national, and international events across the across the United States and in Europe. Her recent concert appearances include performances with Aspen String Trio, clarinetist Jon Manasse, pianist Peter Miyamoto, and members of the UGA string faculty.
Dr. Fischer has performed in violin master classes for renowned artists and teachers including Roger Frisch, Brian Lewis, J. Patrick Rafferty, Stanley Ritchie, and Walter Verdehr, and in chamber music master classes with members of the Ebéne, Juilliard, Parisii, St. Lawrence, and Tokyo String Quartets.
She currently serves as Assistant Professor of Music at Georgia Gwinnett College and also maintains a full violin studio at UGA’s Community Music School. She also serves on the Board of Directors for the Atlanta Suzuki Association of Georgia and is an associate director of UGA’s Summer Music Camps.
