Young Harris College students Veronica Pablo Raymundo and Jordan Pandolph won two top prizes at the Georgia Academy of Science (GAS) annual meeting in March. Pablo Raymundo took the top talk prize in the Biomedical section of the event, while Pandolph took the top talk prize in the Chemistry section.

Dr. Joshua Guitar is presented with the James Madison Prize by Dr. Rebekah Fox and Dr. Chandra Maldonado of the Southern States Communication Association.

Young Harris College Assistant Professor of Communication Dr. Joshua Guitar recently published his first book, Dissent, Discourse, and Democracy: Whistleblowers as Sites of Political Contestation, in which he critiques prominent government whistleblowing discourses and theorizes the concept of “abstruction.” Just months after the book’s release, Guitar was awarded the James Madison Prize for Outstanding Research in First Amendment Studies by the Southern States Communication Association (SSCA).
