English Majors Organization
"Creed and opinion change with time, and their symbols perish; literature and its temples are sacred to all creeds and inviolate." -Mark Twain
The English Majors Organization (EMO) is a social organization in which English majors, minors and literature enthusiasts gather to ask questions, discuss topics and plan events related to their interests. People of all majors are encouraged to participate, as the purpose of EMO is to extend our love of English to the campus and the community.
In the past, EMO members have hosted a literature-themed Murder Mystery Party, organized a Quiz Bowl for the campus Spring Fest Week and participated in professionalization workshops. The EMO also assists English majors and minors in pursuing their career goals. Future plans for the organization include working with literacy programs for children, coordinating poetry slams and starting a book club.
The organization’s faculty advisor is Dr. Jennifer Gianfalla.
