Dr. Watson joined the Young Harris faculty in 2009. His primary research is in epistemology and philosophy of science, with a specialization in a priori justification. He also writes to connect non-philosophers with important and influential philosophical ideas through popular culture. He has contributed to The Office and Philosophy, Johnny Cash and Philosophy,Transformers and Philosophy, and the forthcoming The Hobbit and Philosophy.
Dr. Watson is currently co-writing three textbooks: Critical Thinking: For College, Grad School, and Real Life, Continuum Press; What’s Good on TV? Learning Ethics through Television, Wiley-Blackwell; and Philosophy Demystified, McGraw Hill.
Dr. Watson holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Christian Education from Lee University in Cleveland, TN, a Master of Arts degree in Philosophy from The University of Montana at Missoula, and a Ph.D. in Philosophy from Florida State University.
