Dr. Bishop joined the faculty of Young Harris College in 2009. His areas of specialization include early American literature, environmental writing, and gender studies. He teaches courses in world literature and American literature, with a special emphasis on narratives about place. He is currently at work co-editing an anthology on literary representations of energy, which is to be published by Texas Tech University Press in 2011.
Dr. Bishop received a Ph.D. from the University of Nevada, a Master of Arts from Middlebury College and a Bachelor of Arts from Bowdoin College.
