Dr. Harvey joined the faculty at Young Harris in 1976. He teaches creative writing with interests in fiction and non-fiction. He has published three collections of personal essays including A Geometry of Lilies and enjoys performing on the banjo and guitar with "Butternut Creek and Friends," a band performing regional music.
Dr. Harvey earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Wake Forest University. He holds a Master of Arts degree from John Hopkins University and Middlebury College and earned his Ph.D. from The University of Virginia. In addition, Dr. Harvey has studied at Columbia University.
