Honors Program Trips

Past Trips

Boston, Summer 2011

In May 2011, Dr. Jim Bishop and Dr. Mark Rollins accompanied honors students on a 10-day cultural tour of Boston, exploring the area’s history, art and literary heritage (not to mention the fabulous food). Highlights included the Museum of Fine Arts (including the outstanding Chihuly exhibit), the House of the Seven Gables, Walden Pond and sites associated with the Salem witch trials. The total cost for each honors student was $250—the Honors Program covered the rest.

Russia, Summer 2010

Honors students traveled on a 10-day trip to St. Petersburg and Moscow, discovering the art, culture and heritage of Russia. Students toured some of the country's most famous sites, including Moscow's Red Square and Tretyakov Gallery and the Hermitage in St. Petersburg. Day trips took the students to Sergiev Posad, center of the Russian Orthodox Church and Peterhof, Peter the Great's palace and grounds.
