204 College Physics I - 4 semester hours
Recommended Prerequisite: Math 116. Mechanics. An algebra-based introduction to mechanics, the study of the movement of discrete, particulate masses, wave phenomena in continuous media and thermodynamics, the study of heat and temperature. The class meets a minimum of three lecture hours and three laboratory hours per week.
205 College Physics II - 4 semester hours
Prerequisite: Physics 204. An algebra-based introduction to electricity and magnetism, optics, and selected topics in modern physics.The class meets a minimum of three lecture hours and three laboratory hours per week.
214 University Physics I - 4 semester hours
Pre/co-requisite: Math 201. A calculus-based introduction to mechanics, the study of the movement of discrete, particulate masses, wave phenomena in continuous media and thermodynamics, the study of heat and temperature.The class meets a minimum of three lecture hours and three laboratory hours per week.
215 University Physics II - 4 semester hours
Prerequisite: Physics 214. Prerequisite: Math 201. A calculus-based introduction to electricity and magnetism, optics, and selected topics in modern physics.The class meets a minimum of three lecture hours and three laboratory hours per week.

Bobby Nichols joined Young Harris College in Fall of 2007. He is a graduate of Young Harris College (A.S. 1982 with honors), Davidson College (B.S. 1986, Honors in Physics) and Washington University in St. Louis (M.A. Physics 1988, Ph.D. Physics 1992). (See also Curriculum Vitae and publications.)
