A strong base of knowledge in the areas of mathematics and science prepares Young Harris College students to excel in many career fields, including medicine, dentistry, physical therapy, ecology, pharmacology, astronomy, physics and education—just to name a few. Our facilities are well-tailored to nearly every scientific interest. Many courses combine traditional laboratory experiences with field experiences that allow students to conduct and present significant research. Students can take part in two programs unique to Young Harris College—the YHC Hemlock Project and the Beekeeping Institute. YHC is also home to a 40-foot-dome planetarium, which features a state-of-the-art star projector with a full-dome digital projection system, as well as an observatory.
