Dr. Amanda Song joined the YHC faculty in the fall of 2009. Before working at YHC, Dr. Song taught at Western Carolina University and the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown. The courses she has taught include general chemistry, analytical chemistry and instrumental analysis. Teaching is her passion. She enjoys her time spent interacting with students.
Her expertise is in analytical and environmental chemistry. She has several publications in peer-reviewed journals and has presented her research in a number of national and international meetings. Her primary research interests are broad, including the development of analytical methods for differentiating organic carbon and nitrogen species in soils, impact of soil organic matter on transformation and degradation of toxic chemicals and applications of analytical instrumentation in determining heavy metal elements in the environment.
