M.S., Clarkson University
M.A., University of Mississippi
After graduating with an honors degree in physics from the University of Calcutta in India, Dr. Ray received her M.S. in information technology from Clarkson University in New York. During her time at Clarkson, she worked on the website design of the The combined Research Curriculum Development Project (CRCD) funded by NSF. Dr. Ray then moved on to Ole Miss where she received her Ph.D. in physics with a specialization in atmospheric physics. Her research at Ole Miss was aimed at the thunderstorm electrification process and its effect on the global electric circuit. Dr. Ray was a recipient of the dissertation fellowship award from the University of Mississippi for the completion of her Ph.D. She presented her research several times at the American Geophysical Union (AGU) and American Association of Physics Teachers (AAPT). Dr. Ray is excited about teaching physics and physical geography at Young Harris College to science and non-science majors.
