Dr. Swor is an inorganic chemist. After college, he worked in the chemical industry for a year before moving to the University of Oregon, where he received his Ph.D. in chemistry under David Tyler. His graduate work focused on the synthesis of new organophosphine and transition-metal compounds. While conducting his graduate research, he spent three years as an NSF GK-12 Fellow, teaching hands-on science to elementary and middle school students.
Dr. Swor has been at YHC since 2011, teaching courses in general chemistry and inorganic chemistry. His research interests are transition-metal chemistry, ligand design, catalysis and "green"/sustainable chemistry.
