Dr. Boggan joined the faculty of Young Harris College in 2012. A Mississippi native, she attended the Mississippi School for Mathematics and Science and later graduated with a B.A. in political science and minors in piano and speech pathology and audiology from the University of Southern Mississippi. Dr. Boggan earned her M.A. in government and politics from the University of Maryland, College Park. During this time, she served internships with the Maryland Higher Education Commission and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. After moving to Texas, she taught geography and humanities in Plano public schools and American government at Collin College.
After returning to graduate study, Dr. Boggan completed an M.S. in applied cognition and neuroscience and a Ph.D. in cognition and neuroscience from the University of Texas at Dallas. Her research involves perceptual expertise and related topics in cognitive psychology, such as memory and attention. She has presented her research at several professional conferences and is an author on papers appearing in the Journal of Neuroscience, the Journal of Experimental Psychology: General and Neuroscience Letters.
