Dr. Byron joined the faculty of Young Harris College in 2010. His areas of specialization include the Roman Empire, 17th, 18th and 19th American history, with a special emphasis on honor culture and violence. He is currently revising a manuscript on the history of dueling in the United States.
Dr. Byron received a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst, a Master of Arts from Clemson University and a Ph.D. from the University of Arkansas-Fayetteville.
