Dr. Stearns joined the faculty of Young Harris College in 2005. His area of specialization is 20th Century American Cultural History, with an emphasis on film. He is completing a project involving the unusual Hollywood friendship and screenwriting collaborations of two expatriates from England, Christopher Isherwood and Aldous Huxley. 

Dr. Stearns earned a Bachelor of Arts in History degree from Baylor University. He studied graduate Political Science at Purdue University and completed a Master of Arts in History, as well as a Ph.D from the University of Arkansas-Fayetteville.
