Young Harris College Choir to Present 1940s Tribute Concert
YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. – Young Harris College’s Division of Fine Arts will present two performances of the Young Harris College Choir’s annual spring concert Friday and Saturday, Feb. 26-27, at 7 p.m., in Glenn Auditorium of the Clegg Fine Arts Building on the Young Harris College campus. Admission is free and open to the public.
This unforgettable tribute to the 1940s big band era, titled “An Evening at the U.S.O.,” will delight audiences of all ages with costumes and great music. Familiar favorites include “Tuxedo Junction,” “Satin Doll,” “Savoy,” “Somebody Loves Me” and many more.
Veterans are encouraged to wear all or part of their uniforms.
The 62-voice Young Harris College Choir is directed by Jeff Bauman, director of choral and vocal activities and associate professor of music at Young Harris College. Accompaniment will be provided by Staff Accompanist and Adjunct Instructor of Music Cynthia DeFoor on piano and a live orchestra.
The YHC student chapter of Pro Musica Camerata music society will be accepting contributions to support the group’s service activities.
