Ethel Winters Contributes to Local Scholarships at YHC
Cathy Cox, president of Young Harris College, recently accepted a donation to the YHC Local Scholarship Fund from Mrs. Ethel Winters. Also on hand for the presentation was Jay Stroman, Vice President for Advancement at Young Harris College.
The Edward W. Winters Expendable Fund was established to compliment the Local Scholarship Campaign. Mrs. Winters helps Young Harris College provide much needed scholarship assistance to area students wishing to attend Young Harris College.
In keeping with its mission of serving the people of North Georgia, Young Harris College awards over $400,000 of its own resources each year to local students from Towns, Union, and Fannin counties in Georgia, and Clay and Cherokee counties in North Carolina, in the form of scholarships each year. The Local Scholarship Campaign helps to meet this critical need and is supported by the Young Harris College Board of Associates, a group of area volunteers and community leaders. If you wish to make a contribution to support local students, please contact Jennifer McAfee in the Young Harris College Office of Advancement at 706- 379-5318.
