Young Harris Fund
Yes, I'll help YHC raise $1 million for the 2009-2010 Young Harris Fund! Alumni and friends of YHC have been generous over the years in providing for the basic things that keep Young Harris College in business and make it an appealing educational destination. Annual giving to the Young Harris Fund doesn’t usually go toward glamorous expenditures. Rather, it assists us with the ever-important process of operating our campus, maintaining and enhancing our buildings, grounds and facilities. We can’t be a competitive college in today’s environment without providing top notch academic and extracurricular programs for our students, and your annual giving helps there, too! Simply put, we can’t do this – and we can’t do it well -- without your support. Right now, Young Harris College is embarking on what could be the most ambitious move of our 123-year history. As we take the first steps toward becoming a four-year bachelor’s degree-granting college, we must continue to improve our facilities and programming at a much higher rate. Our shift to baccalaureate status will, in itself, herald a major campaign for capital support in the coming years. For now, we must strengthen our annual support in an effort to gear up for the years to come. The annual funds we raise this year will help us immediately with these needs: * Upgrading and updating the interior and cooking stations of the Grace C. Rollins Dining Hall building in order to provide a more pleasant dining experience for today’s students. * Upgrading and repairing residence halls and the surrounding grounds to keep student living facilities up to par. * Improving technology in the Duckworth Library, the dormitories and throughout the campus. * Improving ADA access to all YHC facilities for students with disabilities. * Providing continuing scholarship assistance to our students in need. * Supporting our new Honors Program for outstanding students. * Beginning the master planning process for campus needs as a four-year institution.
