3/13/05 - 300 Wins!
ALBANY, GA March 13, 2005 - Coach Rick Robinson notched his 300th win today as head coach of Young Harris College with a 8-5 win at Darton College. Coach Robinson is currently in his seventh season as YHC's head coach.
"Three hundred wins represents God's Blessings on the program and the many outstanding young men that have worked so hard to make this possible," said Robinson.
Robinson reached the 300-win plateau in just 387 games at YHC, and now has a current won-loss record of 300-87.
"He is a coach that has worked very very hard to build his program and bring it to the level that it currently is at," stated Young Harris College Athletic Director Eric Geldart. "At the pace our baseball program wins games, 400 is not to far away." |

Corey Consuegra, a former YHC player (2001 & 2002) and current 5th year student-athlete at West Georgia, has experienced the process of winning 300 games. "He is among the top coaches in the country, including both junior colleges and NCAA schools. Coach Robinson brings knowledge that others can't match," added Consuegra. "It is easy to see why YHC wins. We as players gained so much knowledge and understanding of the game from him."
In addition to his 300-87 coaching record at YHC, Robinson was the head coach at Brevard College (NC) in 1992 and registered a 33-26 record during that season. His overall record as a head coach currently stands at 333-113.
"It is amazing to look back at each season and remember the different personalities and different backgrounds that these young men brought to Young Harris College," added Robinson. "Then to develop a cohesion that has enabled each team to surpase the last in the amount of wins per year."
Among his 300 wins at YHC are two Region XVII Championships and four GJCAA Championships. |
