Game 4 Summary
In the beginning, it looked like it was going to be a rout for Medlin's Purple squad. They jumped out to an early four run lead behind the brilliant pitching of starter Cason Mobley. However, the Black squad fought back thanks in large part to reliever Andrew Chilcoat who cooled the hot Purple sticks. In the bottom of the sixth, Mobley had a pitch run back over the heart of the plate, and Stephen McCray tied the game with a solo homer. Purple slugger Trevor Collias stepped up to the plate in the top half of the seventh, with two outs and a runner on first, and with one crack of the bat put Medlin's team back up by two depositing a homer in the trees behind the left field fence. Down, but not out the Black squad put their first two batters on, and Michael Hornsby came through with a bases clearing single to the right center gap, evening the game at six apiece. After Chilcoat helped preserve the tie, Josh Vining led the bottom half of the eighth of with a double into the left center gap. Pinch runner Corey Cox then replaced Vining, and immediately stole third. With a runner on third, Ryan Moore stepped to the plate with one out, and with a 1 - 2 count lofted a fly ball down the right field line for a double to with the game, and clinch the series.
