Jenkins Set To Be A Mercer Bear
Stephen Jenkins (Bonaire, GA) announced Friday that he has verbally committed to Mercer University. Stephen will be joining a program full of tradition, and last year they opened the season with a sweep of national power Miami. He is following YHC alums Richard Bentley, Boone Webster, Blake Quarles, and Cory Gearrin. Mercer University is a member of the Atlantic Sun Conference. The 6'3," 165 pound righty was second on the team last year with a 2.15 earned run average. Stephen also averaged a strike out per inning, and held opponents to a .213 batting average. So far this fall, its been much of the same for Jenkins averaging a strike out per inning "I am very excited for Stephen. He has worked very hard to make this possible. He has the desire and work ethic to be very successful both at Young Harris College and at Mercer University." - Coach Robinson
