2008 Region XVII Champions


The 2008 Mountain Lions were the 4th team in school history to reach the 50 plateau.



23 Players have signed Professional Contracts





Our program has produced:
-Two National Players of the Year
-Five All-Americans
-Six Academic All-Americans
-Four GJCAA Players of the Year
-44 All-Region players.

YHC has the distinction of winning more games (469) than any Junior College in the state of Georgia over the last nine years.

The team has averaged over 46 wins per year over the last nine years and 49 wins over the last five.

Since 1999, Young Harris College has captured:


-Five Region XVII Championship

-Eight GJCAA Championships

-Three Region XVII Runner-Up

-One East Central District Championship

-Four East Central District Runner-Up

The team has a .762 winning percentage over the last nine years and .786 in the last six years (297-81).

The team finished the 2004 and 2005 seasons ranked No. 2 in the NJCAA National Division I Junior College Baseball Poll. The 2006 team finished ranked 8th in the nation.


Academic Quick Facts



-Our players' average SAT scores have gone from 940 in 1998 to an 1060 in 2007.

-The team’s college GPA has increased from a 2.0 to a 3.1 over the same time span.

-We have sent over 100 sophomores on to play at four-year colleges.

Recruiting Quick Facts


-Our camps, tournaments and showcase have brought almost 3000 prospective students to our campus.

-Our coaching staff has gone from one assistant, working out of the maintenance department, to three full time assistants.

-All former assistants have moved on to successful four-year programs: Jamie Mabe (Wake Forest), Chris Berry (Baylor), Eric Folmar (Old Dominion), Jason Cronin (Oklahoma Panhandle State University), Hayne Bryant (Brewton Parker), Adrian Dorsey (Georgia State), Josh Jordan (Appalachian State), Graham Sikes (Univ. of Notre Dame), Austin Smithwick (Lander University), Jeremy Boles (Liberty Univ.), Alan Beck (Univ. of Tennessee) and Garrett Quinn (Stetson University).

-Zell B. Miller field is one of the best Junior College playing facilities in the nation.

-Miller Stadium has a renovated playing surface including drainage and irrigation.
