Promotions and Job Posting

The College desires to provide opportunities for advancement to its Employees, and, consequently, to fill job openings from within the workforce whenever qualified Employees are interested in these openings.

Job openings at the College are filled either by promotion from within a department, College-wide posting or external recruitment. Jobs that require previous experience in another job or that represent a natural progression within a given department will be filled by promotion from within that department when qualified candidates are available based on knowledge, skills, experience and abilities, and without regard to race, color, religion, sex/gender, sexual orientation, national origin, disability or any other category protected by law.

Job Posting:

Descriptions of positions that cannot be filled from within a department will be e-mailed to all Employees and posted on the College Website. Any Regular Employee who meets the minimum qualifications will be allowed to apply for the position. The position will be offered to the most qualified applicant, whether internal or external, on the basis of knowledge, skills, experience and abilities, without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability or any other category protected by law. Regular Employees obtaining positions in this manner will have no rights to their former position should they be unsuccessful in the new position. Employees will be limited to one successful bid in any one-year period.
