Introductory Period

For Non-Exempt hourly Employees, the first 60 working days of continuous employment at the College will no doubt be a learning experience. Non-Exempt hourly Employees will learn job duties and responsibilities, get acquainted with Management and fellow Employees, and familiarize themselves with the College in general. We refer to this initial period of employment as the introductory period for non-Exempt hourly Employees. While we understand that non-Exempt hourly Employees will be learning a lot about their new job, they are still expected to perform satisfactorily and their performance will be reviewed closely. Employees not performing satisfactorily during the Introductory Period can be dismissed at any time. Completion of the introductory period does not guarantee continued employment and does not change the at-will nature of the employment relationship. (See section 380 Retirement Plan Policy for how this effects participation in the Retirement Plan.)
