Performance Evaluation
Performance evaluations are conducted regularly to provide both you and your Supervisor with the opportunity to discuss your job tasks, identify and correct weaknesses, encourage and recognize strengths, and discuss methods for improving your performance. However, a positive performance evaluation does not guarantee an increase in salary, a promotion, or even continued employment. Compensation increases and the terms and conditions of employment, including job assignments, transfers, promotions, and demotions, are determined by and at the discretion of the College.
In addition to these more formal performance evaluations, the College encourages you and your Supervisor to discuss your job performance on an ongoing basis.
A formal written performance evaluation will be done at the end of the introductory period for non-Exempt hourly Employees and annual performance evaluations are usually done every 12 months around the end of the academic (faculty) or fiscal (staff) year for all Employees. When funds are available for compensation increases, annual performance evaluations will be used to determine whether an Employee is awarded an increase. Pay increases will be differentiated based on performance and given to those employees who continue to increase their value and contribution to Young Harris College.
