Workers' Compensation Insurance

If you are injured or become ill as a result of your job, you may receive, at no cost to you, Workers' Compensation benefits which may include medical care, compensation, and vocational rehabilitation. To receive workers' compensation benefits, you must:

a. Report any work-related injury or illness to your Supervisor immediately;

b. Complete a written form and return it to Human Resources; and

c. Seek medical treatment from the approved panel of physicians posted on the College bulletin boards, and follow-up care, if required.

State law imposes legal consequences for the abuse of Workers' Compensation benefits. The College will report any concerns of false or fraudulent claims to its Workers' Compensation insurance carrier for investigation. Any person who makes or causes to be made any material statement or representation, known to be false or fraudulent, for the purpose of obtaining or causing a denial of Workers' Compensation benefits or payments, is subject to criminal and civil penalties.
