Bereavement Leave

The College provides bereavement leave to Employees who need time off because an immediate family member has died. To ask for bereavement leave, see your Supervisor.

All Employees are eligible for up to 5 days of bereavement leave with pay.

While you are on a paid bereavement leave, you will receive your base pay but you will not be entitled to any special forms of pay, such as overtime, incentives, commissions, bonuses, or shift differentials.

With your Supervisor's approval, you may use other available paid leave benefits you have, such as vacation, if you need more time off.

For bereavement leave, "immediate family" means your spouse, parent, child, brother, or sister; your spouse's parent, child, brother, or sister; your child's spouse; your grandparent or your grandchild.
