Policy

Short-Term Disability

Regular full-time Employees are eligible to participate in the College's short-term disability (STD) benefits program. STD benefits are paid to eligible Employees who cannot work because of qualifying disability conditions caused by an injury or illness.

Eligible Employees may participate in the STD plan subject to the terms and conditions of the agreement between the College and its insurance carrier. If the disability results from pregnancy or a pregnancy-related illness, it will be treated the same as any other illness that prevents an Employee from working.

If the disability is covered by Workers' Compensation, it is not covered by the STD plan.
