Overtime

There may be times when the College will need to schedule Employees to work overtime. When possible, we will try to give you advance warning of a mandatory overtime assignment. We try to distribute overtime assignments fairly among all Employees who are qualified to perform the required work.

It is our policy that no overtime can be worked without the approval and authorization of the Supervisor.

Non-Exempt Employees will be paid time and one-half their regular rate of pay for all hours worked in excess of 40 in a workweek. Overtime pay is based on actual hours worked. For this reason, time off for sick leave, vacation, and other paid or unpaid leaves of absence is not counted as hours worked when calculating overtime pay.

If you do not work scheduled overtime or if you work overtime without first getting your Supervisor's approval, you will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including possible termination of employment.
