  1. Be able to list and describe the parts of the eukaryotic cell.
  2. Be able to state the function of each eukaryotic cell structure.
  3. Know what parts of a eukaryotic cell are not necessarily found in all eukaryotes.
  4. What are the different types of fungal cells?
  5. How do different fungi obtain nutrition?
  6. Know the meaning of mycelium, yeast, and hypha.
  7. Know the difference between zygospores, ascospores, basidiospores, sporangiospores, and conidiospores. Know which are sexual and which are asexual.
  8. Know the different divisions of the fungal kingdom, and the general characteristics of each division and how you could identify a fungus in each division.
  9. How are fungi cultured in the laboratory?
  10. Describe the role of fungi in human disease.
  11. What are non-medical roles of fungi?
  12. What is an alga, where do they live, how are they significant ecologically and economically?
  13. Know what is meant by a trophozoite and a cyst.
  14. Know how protozoa obtain nutrition, and where they live.
  15. Know how protozoa are classified according to their method of locomotion.
  16. How do protozoa reproduce?
  17. What is a typical life cycle of a human parasite?
  18. Be able to illustrate the life cycle of at least one parasitic protozoan and one helminth.
