Young Harris College is committed to providing scholarships for local students. For the 2012-2013 academic year, more than $3.2 million has been awarded to more than 250 local students from Fannin, Gilmer, Pickens, Rabun, Towns and Union counties in Georgia and Cherokee and Clay counties in North Carolina.
The YHC Board of Associates, a group of local business and civic leaders from these seven counties, is the driving force behind the Local Scholarship Campaign. Each September, the Board launches this annual campaign in an effort to assist the College in providing aid to local students from these communities.
In addition to raising funds from local business, organizations and individuals, the Board of Associates presents the annual Young Harris College Big Dance—a fun evening of live music and good fellowship for a great cause.
For more information about the Local Scholarship Campaign or to make a gift or pledge to the campaign, contact Mark Dotson in the Office of Advancement at (706) 379-5355.
