Parents and grandparents of Young Harris College students have the unique opportunity to see first-hand the positive impact that Young Harris has on their loved ones. Each semester, you witness new levels of growth and confidence, knowing that lessons learned outside the classroom are just as important as those learned inside.
YHC Parents/Grandparents Council
Parents and grandparents are an integral part of the YHC family, serving as ambassadors within their communities and faithfully supporting the College’s ongoing mission to provide students with a comprehensive liberal arts experience. The YHC Parents/Grandparents Council serves as an outlet for family members who want to play a more active role in shaping the present and future of the College. The council participates in many YHC events including Family Weekend, alumni connections and receptions hosted by the Office of Admissions. They also help establish connections that can lead to internships and other professional opportunities for students.
YHC Parents/Grandparents FUND
The YHC Parents/Grandparents Council members help encourage financial support and stewardship through the YHC Parents/Grandparents Fund, which gives family members an opportunity to make a targeted investment in the services and programs that students benefit from every day.
One of the main goals of the Parents/Grandparents Council is to raise funds annually to bolster core priorities of the College such as student research tools, state-of-the-art classroom equipment and stimulating campus programming. Many family members are surprised to learn that tuition only covers 50 percent of the College’s operating costs. Your philanthropic support is essential to making up that difference by enriching and enhancing YHC’s high-quality services and programs.
