YHC recently received a $5,000 grant from the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety (GOHS) to participate in the Georgia Young Adult Program (GYAP).

YHC will host the DeKalb Symphony Orchestra (DSO) as part of the annual “Fay Harmon Clegg Hoag Concert Series” on Thursday, Nov. 1, at 8 p.m.

O. Wayne Rollins Planetarium will present the show “Earth, Moon and Sun” as part of a special Kids Night program on Friday, Nov. 2, at 7 p.m.

The Young Harris College Division of Fine Arts will present the YHC Piano Ensemble in concert on Sunday, Oct. 28, at 3 p.m.

YHC recently received a gift from long-time donor Ethel Winters of Hiawassee, Ga., as a contribution to the Edward W. Winters Scholarship.

On Saturday, Oct. 27, the Young Harris College Chamber Choir will preview the program for its upcoming European debut in December 2012.

Activities are scheduled throughout the evening, beginning at 6:30 p.m. The event is open to the public and promises to be a fun-filled event for all ages.

Dr. Barnes Tatum, Jefferson-Pilot professor of religion and philosophy emeritus at Greensboro College, will deliver the annual Hamilton Lecture.

The YHC Concert Choir and Chamber Choir will join forces with the Mountain Community Chorus for a concert on Saturday, Oct. 20, at 7 p.m.

Rollins Planetarium will present “Fright Light” at 7 and 8 p.m. on the following Friday evenings: Oct. 19 and Oct. 26.

Young Harris College’s Division of Fine Arts will present a Music Department Faculty Artists Recital on Sunday, Oct. 14.
