On Sept. 23, many Young Harris College faculty, staff and students attended “YHC Sunday,” an annual event presented by the First United Methodist Church of Union County.

Six daytime performances were presented at no charge for approximately 3,700 students in pre-kindergarten through fifth grades from area schools.

On Sept. 20, approximately 450 Young Harris College students, faculty and staff enjoyed a special private screening of the Warner Bros. film “Trouble with the Curve."

On Thursday, Sept. 27, YHC will host a guest lecture by mathematician Dr. Jeffrey Weeks at 7 p.m. in Wilson Lecture Hall.

The exhibit opens Thursday, Sept. 27, with an opening reception at 6 p.m. and will be on display through Friday, Oct. 26.

Presented by the Division of Humanities, the event is free and open to the public.

Performances begin at 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 21, and Saturday, Sept. 22, in Dobbs Theatre located inside Goolsby Center.

YHC was ranked 18th out of more than 7,500 colleges and universities across the nation in the website’s annual lists of the nation’s top professors and universities.

The run includes daytime school performances Wednesday-Friday, Sept. 19-21, and a free public performance on Saturday, Sept. 22.

Some of Young Harris College’s most talented students strut their stuff with favorite Broadway songs, dances and scenes.

Angela Smith, associate dean of students at the University of Tennessee, has been selected as the new vice president for student development at YHC.

Young Harris College’s Campus Gate Art Gallery will host a special artist reception with ceramicist Thaddeus Erdahl on Thursday, Sept. 13, at 6 p.m.

Theatre Young Harris will present an exciting new lineup of performances for the 2012-2013 season.
