Study the science of matter and its transformations—from the rocks that make up our planet to the nuclear reactions that power our sun. Chemistry is often described as the central science because it connects the physical, biological, natural and applied sciences. To understand fundamental concepts of nearly all other scientific disciplines, you must have a good working knowledge of chemistry.

This is a hands-on science. More than lectures and coursework, our program teaches you to get familiar with equipment and instrumentation. YHC’s small classes and labs are led by seasoned professors, not teaching assistants, so you’ll have the expertise and one-on-one instruction you deserve. And with an extensive and diverse chemistry curriculum, career options for our graduates are practically endless—from restoring art or developing a perfume to practicing environmental law or studying energy sources.

YHC’s Chemistry Club is affiliated with the American Chemical Society so you have constant opportunities to connect, learn and share nationwide. You can also take advantage of student research and special projects to put your skills to the test, and take advantage of opportunities to present findings at conferences and meetings.
