Title = Physical Education Instructor and Aquatic Director
My love for the "outdoors" and "aquatic" settings make the North Georgia Mountains a true teaching experience for me. I believe that we all have a calling and to be able to face each day loving your job makes life worth the struggles. I treasure the freedom that Young Harris College offers in that I can expose my students to the natural beauty that surrounds them. I have the privilege of teaching classes like -- sailing, camping, hiking and snow skiing. My mind is always looking for new and exciting challenges. I am currently pursuing the possibilities of other water activities i.e. canoeing and water skiing.
The greatest thrill of being a teacher is having your students get excited about the courses you teach. I have had 3 students complete the Appalachian Trail and give the credit to my hiking class! What an honor!
As our society develops more and more technology (thus keeping people tied to desks longer) the need for exciting and challenging physical activities will increase. I hope we will be able to meet that demand by exposing them to the great beauty that God allows.
