Director of Outdoor Education -
Rob Dussler
Rob is from Houston, Texas and has lived in Georgia for the past 8 years. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from St. Edward’s University located in Austin, Texas, in 1991. Rob moved to Georgia in 1992 to continue his education. He fell in love with the mountains and streams of Georgia and the Southeastern United States. He proceeded to teach high school English for 4 years including a year at an Expeditionary Learning Outward Bound School in Atlanta. In this process he combined his love for teaching, youth and the out of doors. Rob earned his Masters degree in Outdoor Education Administration from Georgia College and State University located in Milledgeville, Georgia, in May of 2002. His passions include whitewater kayaking, fly- fishing, teaching, coffee, and being with his family and friends.   

 Drew Matthews
Drew has had a life long passion for the great outdoors. He has been learning the basics of Outdoor Education and good leadership skills through working with the Outdoor Education Program at Young Harris College and is currently working on his Associate of Science Degree in Outdoor Education. His interests include bouldering,rockclimbing,hiking,and camping.

Former Staff Member - David Wills
David developed an intense interest in the outdoors and ultra light backpacking while at Young Harris College. He is currently working on designing and making his own gear. David served as the president for the outdoor club. He is currently attending Georgia College and State University.

 Former Staff Member - Ryan Houghton
Ryan is life long enthusiast of the outdoors. He has been furthering his knowledge in the field of Outdoor Education through his work with the Outdoor Education program at Young Harris College. He graduated ffom Young Harris College in the Spring of 2005 and plans to pursue a degree in Wilderness Leadership and Experiential Education at Brevard College in Brevard, NC. His interests include hiking, paddling, climbing, and adventure, straight up or on the rocks. 

Former Staff Member - Jeff Henderson
Jeff comes from a family that is well versed in the outdoors. He has only added to this knowledge during his time at Young Harris College. He attended the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS) in the Summer of 2003 and studied mountaineering in the Wind River Range, Wyoming. During his studies he became proficient in climbing, leadership, Leave No Trace, and most backcounty principles and skills. He earned his B.S. in Adventure Education fromn Prescott College in December 2006.

Former Staff Member - Cauley Rushing
Cauley is a graduate of Young Harris College. His passions include whitewater kayaking and mountain biking. In addition to being an Outdoor Education staff member, he has worked for the Nantahala Outdoor Center as a raft guide on the Chattooga and Nantahala Rivers. He is currently pursuing a Bachelors degree in Outdoor Education from Georgia College and State University in Milledgeville, Georgia.
