Leadership YHC is an exciting two-year, multidisciplinary, experiential leadership program in which only a select group of students are invited to participate. The program emphasizes principled leadership development and intentional civic engagement through curricular and co-curricular elements. Students who satisfactorily complete all program requirements will be awarded an academic Certificate in Leadership & Public Service and acknowledgement on their academic transcript.

The freshman year emphasizes exploration of key leadership practices and understanding the process of leadership. Service to others is emphasized through your participation in a mentor program for elementary-age students and participation in campus and community service efforts. You also experience a unique learning community environment as you and the other Leadership YHC participants engage in your leadership courses collaboratively as a cohort group.

The sophomore year emphasizes our personal and collective responsibilities as citizens in service to society and the role of leadership for the common good. You are encouraged to strengthen your own leadership skills and influence the development of others through the completion of a capstone leadership project.
