Volunteer YHC

Volunteer YHC
Volunteer YHC provides avenues for students to serve the Young Harris College campus and our local community. These avenues have been formed through the development of relationships with agencies in the community, as well as through the initiatives created by individual students and student-led organizations on campus.
Volunteer YHC serves as the central disseminating point for information concerning the many volunteer opportunities offered by the various campus constituencies. Whatever your particular skill or interest may be, chances are there is an opportunity that exists for you to serve our community.
Become involved. Help us to Build Community Through Service.
Mentoring a child this year has honestly been one of the most fulfilling experiences of my freshman year of college. I have always been deeply involved with community service, but no other opportunity has allowed me to feel so influential. Mentoring allows you to impact children’s lives in their desire to excel in school, their outlook on the future; and more than anything else, mentoring impacts the way the children view themselves. I have been able to show my student how special she is by consistently spending time with her and being someone whom she can confidently confide in. I pray that I have been able to encourage her and show here the unconditional love that she has shown me.
