Welcome, new Mountain Lions!

The R.O.A.R. program is an extended orientation model that consists of:

  • A one-day summer pre-orientation
  • A more intensive four-day orientation before classes start in the fall
  • Welcome week activities
  • The Intro to College course Mountain Lion 1000

This intensive four-day program includes activities and sessions designed to learn more about how to make a successful transition to college life here in the enchanted valley. ROAR is required for all new students during Welcome Week at the start of the fall semester.

Welcome Week

Welcome Week is the official kick-off for the fall and spring semesters.

All new and returning students are invited to attend. It is a perfect opportunity to get acquainted (or reacquainted) with the campus, get to know your roommates, take part in activities, and make new friends.

Not living on campus? Welcome Week is for you, too! Commuter students are encouraged to attend and participate in all Welcome Week activities.
