Ordination
"Your calling in life is where your greatest passion
meets the world's greatest need."
Frederick Buechner
What are your passions? What drives you? Who do you want to be? What do you want to do? What are the needs of the world? Where are its failings? What are its struggles? Where might those needs and your passions intersect? Might that intersection meet your life’s work, your career, your service to the world, to the kingdom, to the church, to God?
While in college, we examine many subjects, learn about the world, and—possibly most importantly—discover ourselves. It is this discovery of who we are and our life’s passions that propel us to act in the world. Sometimes these actions demand that we set aside our lives for a particular service, for a specialized ministry. We call that particular setting aside of our lives for service to God’s kingdom ordination.
