Alice Hirt and Jo Bearse Endowed Art Exhibition to Open at Young Harris College Campus Gate Art Gallery
Exhibit Features YHC Alumnus and Photographer Trent Sizemore, ‘14
YOUNG HARRIS, GA. — Young Harris College’s Campus Gate Art Gallery (CGAG) is thrilled to present “Remaining Wild: Life in Yellowstone” by photographer and YHC alumnus Trent Sizemore, ’14, for the annual Alice Hirt and Jo Bearse Endowed Art Exhibition. The exhibit will open Thursday, Nov. 2, with an opening night reception at 6 p.m. and will be on display through Tuesday, Nov. 21. The reception and exhibit are free and open to the public.
Sizemore followed his dream of moving out west a day after graduating from YHC. He currently resides in West Yellowstone, Mont., between the Tetons National Park and Yellowstone National Park as he pursues a career in wildlife photography. Since moving out west, he has written a book entitled “Moving West: A Journey From Georgia to Montana” that documents his experiences and photographs from his two years in Yellowstone. His art embodies the beauty of wildlife and the majestic landscapes of a life he once only dreamed about.
“Wildlife photography as art is more than just snapping a quick photo as proof of an encounter,” said Sizemore. “Through my work, I hope to raise awareness of the greater Yellowstone area as one of the last remaining fully intact ecosystems—a place worth protecting.”
