Young Harris College Presents Athens Guitar Duo in Concert
YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. – The Fine Arts Department at Young Harris College is proud to welcome the Athens Guitar Duo to the Susan B. Harris Capel on the YHC campus on Monday, Feb. 12, at 7 p.m. The concert is free and open to the public.
Whether performing for a large audience overseas, or an intimate in-home concert for a collection of enthusiasts in the U.S., the Athens Guitar Duo has been regarded to leave “a deep impression on the audience with their passionate, meticulous, and masterful artistry.”
Featuring Dr. Dusty Woodruff and Dr. Matthew Anderson, the duo opened up the world of the guitar to new audiences, promoting the works of both modern and traditional composers with youthfulness and freshness.
Currently, Dr. Woodruff is active as a soloist and concerto performer and conducts master-classes across the United States. He serves as the head of the Guitar Department for Augusta University and is a professor at Georgia College and State University and North Georgia University. He also maintains a private guitar studio in Athens, Ga. where he resides with his wife, Jordan.
Dr. Anderson is the Assistant Professor of Guitar at Reinhardt University where he also serves as the Co-Director of the Reinhardt Contemporary Arts Festival and Music Program Coordinator. He lives with his wife and two children in Atlanta, Ga.
